Morning Glory cloud above Allen Island, Gulf of Carpentaria, 2007 The base of the upper system was probably around 12,000 feet. We were on the leading edge of the main system in strong lift at around 3500ft. Allen Island is between Mornington and the coast and is roughly the size of Sweers.
