Satellite Pictures of the Morning Glory


7th Oct 1992. Rob Thompson & Russell White soared this one to Booraloola, remaining coastal on the first wave set - visible in the picture below as the cloudline along the south-eastern coast of the Gulf.

The main wave was hinted at by a line of cumulus way out to sea, but I remained ignorant of its size until obtaining this picture some years later when it was faxed to me by Mike Rosel at Dept Meteorology Melbourne. This is probably not the same image featured in the ABC's Quantum program on the Morning Glory.
