Cut Throat Business: I Am Having the Last Word
by C. Bridge
Book Description (or: Who Writ This Crip?): So many books are coming out about the porn industry but not one like this, a true story, an autobiography that are not trying to cash in on her last moments of fame, she never had one though she will tell you in a conversational way in the same street wise and gritty way as the industry is what goes on in today’s porn Mecca, San Fernando Valley.

You will find out how much the actors/actress are making as of today, how this on the fringe industry can't really make money unless they bootleg one or two competitors products and what will happen if you get caught with the fingers in the cookie jar.

This book also tells about backstabbing bosses, drugs, booze, extortion, and so much more but last of course the sex. This book is written by an editor that turned her back on the industry. There will be revealed how much it costs to make a DVD from shooting the scene to the actual cost of creating the sleeve and duplication; about the different 'legitimate' filmmakers involved, and where blank videos that use to have content of Disney's movies such as "Mulan" and many others come from.

This is a secretive and many times dangerous industry and this book will give a different and 'sober' look into the industry that so many others have written about when they were under the influence, this one is from an unknown editor that slammed the door in their faces by revealing everything.

Grandes Horizontales
by Virginia Rounding
Book Description: A fascinating portrayal of the lives of the great nineteenth-century courtesans.

Marie Duplessis, Cora Pearl, La Païva and La Présidente, the four women whose lives and legends are examined in this fascinating book, were all representatives of the golden age of the French courtesan. In the reign of Emperor Napoleon III the opulent and pampered demimonde became almost indistinguishable from the haut-monde, with mythical reputations growing up around its most glittering and favored celebrities.

Marie Duplessis became the prototype of the virtuous courtesan when Alexandre Dumas Fils portrayed her as Marguerite Gautier in La dame aux Camélias.. Apollonie Sabatier, known as La Présidente, put men of letters and other arts at ease amidst the gracious manners and bawdy talk of her salon and was immortalized by sculptor August Clésinger and poet Charles Baudelaire.

To prejudiced eyes, the Russian Jew La Païva appeared intent on exploiting the rich young men of Paris. Covetous onlookers resented her ability to amass and display great wealth, most notably in the design and building of her opulent hotel in the Avenue of the Champs Elysées. The English beauty who called herself Cora Pearl was another "foreign threat", with her athletic physique, sixty horses and ability "to make bored men laugh", including Prince Napoleon.

Virginia Rounding disentangles myth from reality in her lively, thought-provoking study. Nineteenth-century Paris comes to life and so do its most distinguished and déclassé inhabitants.

Pandering
by Heidi Fleiss
Book Description: In a stunningly candid and courageous memoir, the notorious Hollywood Madam tells her own story for the first time. From a lucrative babysitting empire at the age of 13 to a global network of call girls and customers that stretched from Los Angeles to Kuwait, Heidi Fleiss built and ran the most glamorous and obscenely successful sex business in history. Her spectacular rise and fall captivated the country in the early 90’s, even as it terrified Hollywood’s power elite. Featuring original text, wiretap transcripts, court documents, news clippings, diary excerpts, interviews with hookers, and fantastic original artwork, Heidi tells her story with a fierce regard for the truth. At turns political, passionate, poignant, funny, sexy, angry, outrageous, and wise, Pandering is arguably the bravest and most provocative visual memoir ever published — a book that will make headlines all over again.

Traci Lords: Underneath It All
Traci Lords: Underneath It All
by Traci Lords
Nora Kuzma was a troubled teenager from Steubenville, Ohio; Traci Lords was the underage skin mag/porn queen who became the centerpiece of the adult video industry's greatest scandal. In reality, they were one and the same, the subject of this slick, if thin autobiography. But what's striking here is not the familiar storyline--confused, sexually abused teen falls in with drugs and the wrong Southern California crowd, forges fake IDs to become Penthouse Pet of the Month at 16 and the '80s hottest adult star, then arrested as focus of the Reagan administration's crackdown on porn, only to become reborn as cleaned-up, psychoanalyzed/rehabed purveyor of legitimate film, TV, and music career. Rather, what's striking is Lords's capacity for denial, compartmentalization, and myopia when it serves her ends.

Her scandalous tenure in the skin trade--undeniably the sole basis for her infamy and subsequent legitimate career--is glossed over here in a few score pages, with more attention paid to the heavy-metal musicians that dotted her life than the motivations and machinations of the Feds who literally changed her life; Slash's snake gets more ink here than Attorney General Ed Meese. Quick to ladle generous sympathy on her own plight, she heaps little but scorn upon those from the seedy past of her porn-star alter-ego, yet seems to have had few qualms about formally adopting that moniker as her legal name. --Jerry McCulley - Amazon.com
