Ducati 750 Sport 1975

Ducati 750 Sport 1975
Dan Kelo writes about this immaculate and very original example.

The bike has all original paint and decals. It is a late '74 ('75 model year) for the U.S. market, which means it came with the large CEV tail light and Ceriani forks & it originally had turn signals (which have been removed and boxed). The photograph shows no steering damper, which I have since installed.

As I understand it, the first few Sports were built in '72 using the wide frame of the 750GT.  In '73 they went to the narrow frame with black engine covers and leading axle forks.  In '74 they went with polished cases, and late in '74 they switched to central axle forks and  860-style (bad) CEV switchgear, and the U.S. models got turn signals and the big tail light.  Some of the last ones had a dual seat.  They stopped making them for a bit, and then I believe they had a very short production run using left over parts in the later 70's, and I think that all of these went to the Australian market.
