| Images may appear grainy or mis-coloured because your screen is set
to display only 256 colours. To change your screen properties in Windows
95, do the following:
1. Minimise all windows, until you can see your desktop.
 |
2. Right click your mouse on a blank section of the desktop and choose
properties on the pop-up menu. |
3. Click on "Settings."
4. Click on the down-arrow to the right of the "Color Palette" box.
5. Choose "High Color" - either 16 or 24 bit.
6. Click "OK" to save settings.
7. If it still looks terrible, or it doesn't give you the choice of
millions of colours, you probably don't have the correct driver for your
screen card.
There is a very handy utility which comes with Microsoft Powertoys
for Windows 95 which enables you to change your resolution from the taskbar
- a great aid for programmers who need to have some idea of what their
latest creation will look like on a range of different monitors made for
both Mac and PC.
