Two Ton Caterpillar Tractor

In 1890, unbeknownst to one another, Benjamin Holt and Daniel Best
were pioneering the track-type tractors and gasoline-powered tractor engines.
Holt's track-type tractor was used by the Allies in World War I. Less than
ten years later, Holt and Best combined forces to form Caterpillar, today
the world's largest manufacturer of construction and manufacturing equipment.
The technology developed in Caterpillar's early history is on full display
in this 1:16 scale replica of the 2-Ton Tractor, which was first built
in 1928. From its utilitarian gray color to its working rubber track and
wheel system, to the crank a farmer had to use to get it started in those
days, this 6.5-inch die-cast model is historically accurate. It's a great
gift for a young heavy-vehicle lover, but it will be truly appreciated
