Disclaimer - this page was written many years ago

Attachments can be a real problem. People send information in various (and sometimes incompatible) version of MS Word doc files; in PowerPoint, RTF, Publisher and as html emails; in Corel 6,7 & 8; in EPS, PSP and Photoshop; as gif, tiff, bmp, jpg, png, svg and several other formats including Apple specific * .... and almost without exception every one of these people assumes their web developer should have the appropriate program to open the file and read it so it looks exactly as they sent it.

Wrong!.

Where possible, send your informaton as plain text, in the body of the email.  You may specify colour and font where necessary. For more complex documents MS word is usually the format of choice - but be sure you're both using the same version.

Do try to remember that the hundred and seventeen brilliant ideas you've come up with and sent out in a 14 page email, replete with umpteen attachments, may take a week or more to translate into web pages.

Keep smilin'
