"The Madison BMW Club was founded in 1968 as the 'Madison BMW and Touring Club', an organization of riders who wanted to see Wisconsin from the saddles of BMW and other shaft-driven motorcycles (a rarity in those days)."

The BMW Owners Club of San Diego, Inc. (BMWOCSD) was originally formed in 1970, and has been meeting and having fun riding BMW motorcycles on the roads of San Diego County and the world ever since. The club is chartered with both of the two large national BMW clubs (BMW Motorcycle Owners of America / BMWMOA, and BMW Riders Association / BMWRA). We are charter club #4 in both organizations.
BMW ROK holds a monthly meeting on the first Monday of each month, unless pre-empted by other Club Events. The meetings are currently held at Puelo's Grill in east Knox county at the Strawberry Plains exit off I-40.
BMW Owners of Mississippi was formed in early 1966. Lloyd Wallace, Bill Marshall, and Dick Tinsley had decided they should try to gather the few BMW owners in the state into an organized BMW group. Membership was restricted to BMW owners and wives. Dick was the President, the late Dave Malcolm was the VP (he later became Mississippi's first Ambassador). So, our early club was founded about the same time as the oldest chartered club (known to BMW MOA)—the BMW Club of Houston. The bulk of the clubs were founded in the 1970s after the national organization got off the ground.
