Description: Birkenhead is famous for a number of things, not least that it was the first place in Europe to operate a dedicated Passenger tramway. The town also developed a tram building works in Cleveland Street. The building still stands to this day and is within ¼ mile of Wirral Transport Museum. A less well known fact is that from this tram works, the first Trolleybus was built and it was operated in Cleveland Street, using the Corporation tram lines and a skate.
