These Napoleonic-period horsemen, handcrafted and historically
accurate in every detail, gallop off the pages of history. The elaborate
French Cuirassier (left, named for his breastplate, called a Cuirass),
features gleaming armor and an intricate regimental banner. The Russian
Hussar (right), his gold-buttoned jacket tossed over the shoulder in typical
cavalryman fashion, charges forward with outstretched sword. Beautifully
mounted on felt-bottomed wooden base. 5½"e; tall. 54mm format.

When Napoleon's Grand Army met Kutuzov's forces at Borodino,
75 miles west of Moscow, the tide of the war changed. The ensuing battle
was the beginning of the end for Napoleon. These lead-cast figures of the
opposing artillery crews and opposing color guard, crafted and painted
completely by hand, capture the spirit of the men that shaped history.
Each artillery set comes complete with officer, four crewmen and a "six-pounder"
artillery cannon (4 1/2 "x2 1/2 "). Each color guard set comes complete
with a flag bearer, drummer, rifleman, sergeant and officer. |
