1937 Cord 812 Die-Cast Car
Crafted to exacting standards, the "1937 Cord 812" replica captures
the streamlined style and dazzling beauty of the original, from the trademark
louvered grille and gleaming engine exhaust pipes, to its luxuriously appointed
interior and aerodynamic sloping tail. Fully detailed, with opening doors
and hood, functional steering, and other operable features. 1:18 scale

1948 Tucker Torpedo
This Tucker '48 was the vision of famed auto innovator Preston Thomas
Tucker (1903-1956), whose "Car of Tomorrow" was streamlined, futuristic,
and fast. Tucker Corp. made only 51 vehicles, of which 47 survive. A tangible
symbol of what Francis Ford Coppola called The Man and his Dream, this
12" model is available in a blue color. A Tucker coupe is part of the collection
at the National Museum of American History.

Golden Hawk
from Hobbytron
This Studebaker qualifies as one of the most stylish rides of the '50s,
a supercharged roadster that doesn't skimp on performance or leg room.
(When the Golden Hawk came out, Motor Trend called it "as close to a sports
car as you can get at a reasonable price and still carry the whole family
in closed comfort.") This 1:18 scale, die-cast replica captures "the Golden
One" in all its tail-finned, whitewalled glory, with a well-detailed interior,
doors that really open, and a working steering wheel. The best part of
this bright white model? Either the shiny chrome trim or the flip-up hood.
Well,
not the hood exactly, but what's underneath: an intricately molded miniature
of the Hawk's 289-cubic-inch, overhead-valve V8. Paul Hughes |
