Biography
Oldenburg's father, a Swedish diplomat, moved to the
United States shortly after Claes was born in 1929. Oldenburg attended
Yale University from 1946 to 1950 and then worked as a cub newspaper reporter
and took courses at the Art Institute of Chicago. A move to New York City
in 1956 brought him into contact with with the likes of Jim Dine, Red Grooms
and Allan Kaprow. |
