I've enjoyed this album very much. More than half the songs are her classic's and that's a pretty good average on anyone's album! I also bought a Piaf singing English album {edithpiaf, hymm to love; all her greatest song's in English}} at the same time, which makes for a very nice companion... more info
Customer Review: Very good reproduction of the original masters. I enjoy it over and over because I liked the movie and the music of that era. The actress deserved the Oscar I think. Todays musiic does seem like music to an old timer.
Customer Review: To those who are not familiar with Miss Piaf's singing soon will become fans of this woman. The recent bio-pic "La Vie en Rose" has stirred interest in those who had not heard her before. They will be richly rewarded with this album. My favorite track is "Non, je ne Regrette Rien".
Customer Review: This excellent album contains eighteen songs that were popular during the WW2 years. The album starts with that well-known hit Boogie Woogie Bugle Boy (performed by The Andrews Sisters), and then moves between jazzy hits (such as G.I. Jive and Yours). I really enjoyed hearing again some of the songs... more info
Customer Review: Jimmy Durante never professed to be a great singer, but the music he makes will put a smile on your lips and a tear in your eye. The supporting orchestration is on a par with that of the best vocalists. This CD has some of the best music to offer and if it was a vinyl record, mine probably would be... more info

Customer Review: This is a great 4 CD set. I am really enjoying her songs of the 1940s and 1950s. You can actually hear the words to the songs, and they are generally about love or caring about positive human relationships. The instrumentals of the "big band" era are also very good.
Customer Review: How we yearn for the bands and sounds of the 1950's. Good old Days? Hey, I am only 44 years old. This sound is before I was born. Compare to today's music, I will get lost in the 1950's anytime! Thanks Guys! Thanks Les! JimmyMac Clifton Heights Pa.
Customer Review: This CD would have been perfection except for the inclusion of two songs by Betty Hutton (listening to her mangled version of IT HAD TO BE YOU is too painful for words) and the exclusion of Glenn Miller. Perhaps whoever put this collection together experienced a brief psychotic break. I can't think... more info
