The good :- The sound on this recording is absolutely great in 5.1 surround. I played the DTS 5.1 track. My Yamaha receiver indicated a 1536 kbps bit rate and 48 kHz sampling rate, which is quite good. The DD 2.0 track is only 192 kbps and does not sound nearly as good. I couldn't try the MLP 5.1... more info

I'm still not sure what to think of this. It isn't really anything. It is a decent showcase for a 5.1 system, but it's so boring and repetitive that you can't sit and listen to it for more than 5 min. Big disappointment.

To get the best audio quality from this disc, I think you need to play this on a DVD-Audio player, and avoid any downmixing to two channels. The disc is labelled as containing an "Advanced Resolution Stereo" 96/24 track, but there does not appear to be one on the disc.
