This isn't really an encyclopaedia. Rather, it's a meaningless coffee table book. True, 1100 orchid species are illustrated and identified, but so what? I was really hoping for something that went into detailed potting care and lighting. The book also recommends some plants for the windowsill that, in my opinion, need more attention than your average windowsill grower gives. The pictures are nice but it just wasn't the information I was hoping for.
