I used this book 8 years ago for an AI Programming course. I remember going through each chapter and doing several exercises. I haven't used LISP in several years, but I still remember how much fun I had going through this book. Almost to much fun. I think that speaks very highly of this book.

This book is a great way to get to know lisp. It doesn't assume you know anything, but it moves along quickly. This isn't lisp for idiots. This is lisp for people who like to think, but don't know lisp (yet). I highly recommend this book.

This is *the* reference for ANSI Common Lisp. I wish it had some more examples, though. Sometimes I go to this book, find what I want, but need to check an example in some other book.
But you need this one if you're going to use Lisp (it's also available for free, legally).
