It is exactly what I thought and I do love it however if I were to choose, I would make it narrower even if you had to increase the height (which you don't need to).
I find that it is bigger than it needs to be even for 6-8 people.
Other than this, I LOVE IT!

Beware: The Microplane Fine Grater actually snapped in half during use! While grating ginger, the black handle snapped off the grating blade at the plastic joint. Surprising and disappointing.
