I'm not a big Rugrats fan but I struggled to find a video that would explain Hannukah AND captivate my 3 year old. This video does both. I love the Yiddish phrases sprinkled throughout, they remind me of my culture. I also love that they incorporate the Hebrew blessing.

This video tells the story of Hanukkah and some of the customs surrounding the holiday. There are songs, dances, and skits. The song about Antiochus sticks in my head. My daughter (age 3) asks to get this tape from the library over and over--I finally bought her a copy of her own.

Although somewhat abstract and harder for young children to understand, "Lights", is an entertaining well done animated 28 minute synopsis of the meaning behind Hannukah. Narrated well, includes some very popular actors playing roles in the piece. Thank you for a well done short film.

I first saw this guy on docmoshe.com really funny stuff. Then I heard the song on the radio. Then the video appeared everywhere: MTV, HBO, E!, Showtime news. ABC News. Yiddish and English together in a hip hop style. A fun hanukah party
