    1.Roman Polanski s PiratesRoman Polanski's Pirates
    from USA Home Video

    Customer Review:
I saw this movie years ago and loved it. I used to think that Long John Silver was the penultimate pirate character but, then came Captain Red. The performance was top notch, and the story was entertaining with just the right touches of humor and adventure. I couldn't wait to get a DVD of this movie... more info

    2.Macbeth (1971)Macbeth (1971)
    from Sony Pictures

    Customer Review:
Will's play is pretty good. Polanski's film, not so much. Yep, the Scottish play was meant to be a dark one, and Polanski gives us lots of glowering skies, but I just didn't feel much depth of character in this rendering. I'd love to see what Zefferelli would do with Macbeth... or the Cohen... more info

    3.A Pure FormalityA Pure Formality
    from Columbia/Tri-Star

    Customer Review:
Starring an ugly fat guy and an alleged child rapist no longer allowed into the USA, this stunning movie about self-seeking and introspection is worth ANY price. One has to wonder why the USA only produces god-awful excrement like "Legally Blond" and appalling and unnecessary sequels to already... more info

    4.TessTess
    from Sony Pictures

    Customer Review:
While taking artistic liberties from the novel , Polanski's Tess is a very entertaining and beautifully filmed movie. The settings and costuming recreate the feeling of Hardy's Wessex as well as any filmed version of his works ever has.
Nastassja Kinski was beautiful in the role and although... more info

    from 20th Century Fox

    Customer Review:
Okay, It isn't a box office Hit! That said, It is an enjoyable film if you want to be entertained. It is a thriller with some quirky comedy and some fantastic views of Moscow and its environs. You go with the main character as he tries to figure out what is happening. Can anyone really take Frank... more info

    8.[no image]Bitter Moon
    from Sony Pictures

    Customer Review:
Bitter Moon is not necessarily Polanski's best film but it certainly ranks as one of my favorites, at least on a personal level rather than film critique as such. Its a very tight film, very romantic, almost too romantic in fact the higher we go the greater the fall. A great story with most... more info
