Customer Review:
This is a delightful film by Argentine director Maria Luisa Bemberg (who directed her first film at age 56! - an inspiration to us all). The movie takes place in a small Argentine town by the name of San Jose de los Altares, some time in the 1930s. Like most small towns, it is a place filled with... more info

Customer Review:
This is one of the best suspense movies I have seen. I hope it comes out on DVD soon. There are a number of twists and turns as well as a surprise ending. I only wish that Ricardo Darin had more scenes as he is an excellent actor.

Customer Review:
Saw this film at the San Francisco Film Festival and it got rave reviews but very little distribution. I always have wondered why as everything about this film is great, acting, story, setting, and its reason for being. Alas the video is too expensive as I would love to have it in my collection.

Customer Review:
"MTV Internacional" called it "The Argentine Blade Runner". Whereas the compliment is appreciated, I wouldn't go that far. When watching this film, you must make allowances: Argentine film studios do not have the billions available as Hollywood does, to make a movie with "Star Wars" special effects.... more info

Customer Review:
"King and his movie" (= "La película del rey") is an Argentinian movie released in 1986, and directed by Carlos Sorín. This film is far from conventional, and even bizarre, but it has a strange appeal, and I think that those spectators constantly on the lookout for something different... more info

Customer Review:
This movie is to K-Pax as the remake of Solaris is to the original. This movie has haunted me for years, ever since I first watched it. I am not wild about some of the scenes toward the end, but the scene with the brain at the sink is one of the best of all time. Is Rantes mad? Or is he telling the... more info
