| | 1. | | The Who - The Kids Are Alright from Bmg Video Label
Customer Review:
This wonderful film has at last been restored to its original cinematic glory. I went to the Rialto in Leicester Square, London (where the film had been premiered) to see it in 1979, and this DVD brought the whole terrific experience back to me. TKAA was butchered for VHS release, with many little... more info

Customer Review:
I bought this years ago on VHS....(enough said?). It deserves a DVD release and some extras. I saw Madonna in Philly in 1989 and I loved it. I still remember the opening act...Technotronic(they sucked). The songs are still good. I didn't even know who Antonio Banderas was then.

Customer Review:
This is an incredible documentary about an amazing man. The film takes you on a ride through the histroy of jazz while telling the story of the phenomonal genius and versatility of Quincy Jones. The movie, and the life it reflects, are structured like a fine jazz number, layered and intricate with a... more info

Customer Review:
I've been a tremendous Police fan for years, so I was quite excited by this title when I first heard about it. In many ways it delivers, but I also feel it could have been stronger. On the plus side, the interview clips with Sting, Stewart, Andy, and Miles (Copeland, the band's manager) are... more info

| | 7. | | Jazz - A Film by Ken Burns from Pbs Home Video
Customer Review:
Ken Burns is an effective filmakeer; if only he were an effective historian! Jazz is a deeply flawed project. The rise of recorded sound and the mass media compressed the history of Jazz. In less than a century, Jazz has seen as many movements/counter-movements and revolutionary outbursts as art or... more info

Customer Review:
While this is, technically, an adequate-to-good documentary (Barbara Kopple always does technically proficient work) -- as for its *truthfulness* about the characters involved, specifically, Woody and his now-wife Soon Yi, it's an excellent example of Woody Allen's ongoing manipulation of the... more info

Customer Review:
I can't believe we waited for 2 months to finally get this and what a disappointment. Only 54 minutes long and it cost a fortune. Most of the tracks were either dubbed or performed while some psuedo-psychadelic images danced across the screen. The openning narrative went so fast it was hard to keep... more info
