It rolls well on wood or carpet, it goes fast, it's colorful, it's durable, and it's simple to dis-assemble/re-assemble. My 2 year old's interested in rolling it around, my 4 year old takes it apart and puts it together again. They really enjoy it, and so do I. The car will occasionally come apart... more info

The automoblox cars are expensive, but worth the expense. I gave one to my 4-year-old grandson, and he loves it; he spends a lot of time taking it apart and putting it back together; he plays with the people and makes up stories about the people in the car. These are a lot of fun for both my 2.5 year old and my 6 year old. They both enjoy taking them apart and putting them back together, including mixing and matching different parts. The wheels are little less durable than the other parts.
The big issue is the price on Amazon (via Fat Brain Toys).... more info
