Customer Review: American Web Equipment: 1910-1967 is a good, but not excellent reference book detailing US issue field gear from pre- WWI to the Vietnam era. Although the book does not go into depth in it's description of each item, or include much information on manufacturers marks, it does well in discussing the... more info
Customer Review: Interested in what the Roman military looked like? Kind of an obscure issue, I thought, when I took a look at a review by an Amazon Friend. However, I got hooked on the concept and ordered the book. I'm glad that I did, although it's certainly not something I would have thought of picking up.more info
Customer Review: I agree with the other comments made on this book. Also, the author succeeds in showing uniform worn in 1914 when the conflict just started and many nations were using outdated uniforms and equipment, and also the uniforms worn throughout the conflict until 1918. It gives the reader a real... more info
Customer Review: This book occupies the ground between an inexpensive primer like the Men at Arms books, and the hardcover coffee table type books like Pruett and Edwards' "Field Uniforms of German Army Panzer Forces." Anyone thinking of buying any of the Osprey titles - either the Panzer Divisions... more info
Customer Review: A very nice book. Lots of color pictures of what appears to be original uniforms. In fact, some of the uniforms were faded and/or torn a bit, so they must have been the real thing. A good buy!!
Customer Review: And I thought I knew all there was to know about British Web Equipment. This book told me otherwise. For such a slim volume it contains a wealth of information and it is superbly illustrated with lavish colour photography. It deals primarily with the basic web sets and does not cover ancillary... more info
Customer Review: The photos of the reenactors in this book make you realize what all other artist renderings were trying to achieve in other books. It stirs the imagination.
The units covered are a bit limited and quite sanitized, but this book is invaluable in providing a frame of reference for all of your... more info
Customer Review: Like Embleton's other Europa Militaria title, Medieval Military Costume, this book is informative and crammed with glorious full-color photographs of serious reenactors. However, because there is less definitive information available about Viking-period reenactment, particularly about period... more info
Customer Review: While it could be a little bigger, this book exactly what I was looking for. Nintey six pages filled with gorgeous photos of samurai and other troops from the various martial eras of Japanese history. Appearently like our Civil War reenacters the Japanese like to "hang out" and dress up all... more info
Customer Review: The realism is so astounding, you'll swear you're looking back at 1812. Books with paintings or sketches of the uniforms don't really cut it, but this book shows it the way it was. The many reenactor groups are very realistic, and if you enjoy the study of uniforms or regiments, this book is a must.... more info
