1.Killing Pablo: The Hunt for the World s Greatest OutlawKilling Pablo: The Hunt for the World's Greatest Outlaw
from Penguin (Non-Classics)
Price: $10.88

Customer Review:
Once I begin a book I usually finish it, even if it's not that good.
But I couldn't finish this book. I read about one third and then quit. It was so boring. It was more about politics than drugs. I guess I was expecting something along the lines of Doctor Dealer (a great read!).

Michael Taussig offers a glimpse of the possibilities in his book Law in a Lawless Land: Diary of a Limpieza in Colombia--limpieza being the term the paramilitaries use to refer to "cleansing" a region of its undesirable elements. 4.Shamanism, Colonialism, and the Wild Man: A Study in Terror and HealingShamanism, Colonialism, and the Wild Man: A Study in Terror and Healing
from University Of Chicago Press

Customer Review:
Michael Taussig takes a stance towards "terrorism" not common in today's world. By trying to trace the roots of this phenomenon, he brings to light many explanations and understandings many of us fail to realize, only because we have not come across them before. I give this book four stars instead... more info

5.Walking Ghosts: Murder and Guerrilla Politics in ColombiaWalking Ghosts: Murder and Guerrilla Politics in Colombia
from Routledge
Price: $17.79

Customer Review:
This is a very poorly written account of a topic so crucial for the history and the future of Colombia. The author is biased against the victims of a political genocide a thesis he chose to build on self-contradicting, and in many cases, superficial, almost idiotic, narratives, gossip, cheap... more info

Customer Review:
First, let me state that I totally disagree with the previous bad review of this book. The book is not hard to read by any means, but to fully understand and comprehend this book you need a solid background in Marxist theory. I found the book to be very enjoyable and enlightening. The first half the... more info

9.Letters to My Mother: A Message of Love, A Plea for FreedomLetters to My Mother: A Message of Love, A Plea for Freedom

Customer Review:
There are two letters. The first is Ingrid Betancourt's letter to HER mother, written in October 2007, then "captured" during the arrest of a FARC rebel in December, 2007. The second letter is that of Ingrid's children to THEIR mother in response.
