It works This maglite holster is well made. It's true you can't have anything else on the flashlight, otherwise it won't fit. Also, the newer longer LED flashlights won't fit in this due to their length. This holster may not be a good item if you use the upgrade kit (conversion of a regular bulb maglite into a LED model). The upgrade kit puts a push button on the bottom and this holster forces you to put the flashlight in tail first. keeps the MagLite where it belongs This holster differs from the plain pouch holster that's often packaged with the AA MagLite, because this holster has a flap with velcro closure coming down over top of the flashlight, to hold it in place. Since I lost my previous MagLite from its plain pouch holster (it slid out unnoticed when the holster flipped upside down), when I got a replacement MagLite I tossed the plain pouch holster and bought this flap holster instead. Where's YOUR Maglite? I bought my Mini Maglite and companion holster primarily for camping, but in a blackout such as the one that struck most of the northeastern US and chunks of Ontario this week, this simple holster really proves its worth.
The belt loop is essentially the whole top portion of the holster, so it slides smoothly onto even a wide belt, with no clips or other protrusions to get caught on anything.
