Having used Sharpie markers on fabric, only to have them fade out in a very short period of time, I would caution anyone NOT to use them if they plan on exposing them to light. They fade out dreadfully in sunlight and some colors bleed as well. Even the Sharpie official website says DON'T USE THEM... more info
