| | 1. | | High Society (Cerebus, Volume 2) from Aardvark-Vanheim Price: $19.80
Customer Review:
"Cerebus" is these days a controversial piece of work due to some of the rather unorthodox views propounded by its creator, Dave Sim, who, in the mid-90s, formulated some theories about women that fell afoul of, well, civilized views. This has retroactively cast a shadow over the earlier volumes of... more info

| | 2. | | Church & State Volume I (Cerebus, Book 3) from Aardvark-Vanheim Price: $23.10
Customer Review:
The longest story arc in the history of Dave Sim's "Cerebus" (which is also building on the events in the preceding "High Society" volume) begins here, this also being the first volume to feature the work of Gerhard as a background artist in its entirety (Gerhard's work revolutionizes the look of... more info

Customer Review:
i picked this up after seeing it for 20 years. i always wondered but never bothered to check it out. it starts off slow but by mid point i was hooked. there's a good mixture of humor, sarcasim and action. if you were like me and were curious about this comic, spend the $20, you won't regret it.

| | 4. | | Church & State, Vol. 2 (Cerebus, Vol. 4) from Aardvark-Vanheim Price: $23.10
Customer Review:
Dave Sim and Gerhard's massive "Church and State" epic, itself an extension of the earlier "High Society" book, finally comes to an end in this volume. Cerebus has, in the course of the story, gone from down and out to Pope, to the gutters again, and then once again back to the Papacy.... more info

| | 5. | | Cerebus: Going Home (Cerebus, Volume 13) from Aardvark-Vanheim Price: $19.80
Customer Review:
There's a misconception that the last third of Cerebus is not as good as the first two thirds, which simply doesn't make sense. The fact is that Cerebus has always varied wildly in quality, and the last third has as many brilliant parts as the earlier stuff. Going Home isn't as good as Guys, but... more info

| | 6. | | Minds (Cerebus, Volume 10) from Aardvark-Vanheim Price: $15.00
Customer Review:
Later Cerebus volumes such as this are not for the uninitiated. Collecting as they do issues from the late 100s (of a total proposed 300 issue series), they require a knowledge of a large majority of the previously published issues of volumes. Cerebus itself is not necessarily enjoyable by those... more info

| | 7. | | Jaka's Story (Cerebus, Volume 5) from Aardvark-Vanheim Price: $21.90
Customer Review:
"Church & State II" ended with the omnipotent Judge character giving Cerebus a brief history of the universe, including the gory outline of said main character's own fate, which was not a pretty sight, and then saw Cerebus returned to Earth to find that his whole empire is in ruins and the land... more info

| | 8. | | Melmoth (Cerebus, Volume 6) from Aardvark-Vanheim Price: $13.60
Customer Review:
Oscar Wilde, one of the leading lights of the late Victorian literary scene, was clearly a huge influence on Dave Sim, the writer/artist/visionary behind the "Cerebus" series. The preceding arc, "Jaka's Story", featured 'Oscar' as a supporting character (this story reveals that it was not, as one... more info

| | 9. | | Flight (Cerebus, Volume 7) from Aardvark-Vanheim Price: $13.60
Customer Review:
Revolution abounds. Cerebus gets mad at Cirinists, kills a bunches, has a little revolution that fails. The Roach turns into the Punisher, which is pretty funny, and does his own revolution thing.

| | 10. | | Form and Void (Cerebus, Volume 14) from Aardvark-Vanheim Price: $19.80
Customer Review:
The best part of this book is a rather incredible sequence in which Dave Sim analyzes Ernest Hemingway. Remarkably researched this would have made a really interesting graphic novel except that since he was shooting for 300 issues of Cerebus and thus laid it into the Cerebus storyline- thus you have... more info
