| | 2. | | Arnold Schoenberg from University Of Chicago Press Price: $13.50
Customer Review:
Sometimes it's the simplest of observations which make the most long lasting impression.I've always been struck by Rosen's assertion that in 'pierrot lunaire' (or any number of his pieces)it wouldn't make make a huge amount of difference if the instrumental parts were transposed in such a way that... more info

| | 4. | | Verklarte Nacht and Pierrot Lunaire from Dover Publications Price: $11.53
Customer Review:
As always, Dover has produced a clean, relatively easy to read score of one of music literature's masterpieces. The English translations are good, and the layout is quite readable. As a study score, or perhaps for use in performance, this edition is highly recommeded.

Customer Review:
I don't particularly like Schoenberg's music, but I think he does quite well in this book, which primarily covers musical form ranging from the tiniest motif to the complete sonata. He goes into detail about how each part of a piece is structured from ever smaller elements down to the phrase and the... more info
