| | 1. | | Odd and the Frost Giants from HarperCollins Price: $8.63
Customer Review:
This is a wonderful, quick read, by one of my favorite authors Neil Gaiman. The story is about a lonely boy named Odd, who lost his Viking father and his mother who was "stolen" by his father from her native Scotland. Odd tries to make it on his own by living up to his father's mythical image... more info

| | 2. | | The Islands of the Blessed from Simon & Schuster Audio Price: $21.35
Customer Review:
This third book of this Nancy Farmer focuses more on the society and relationships and less on adventure. It is a nice close of the series, but not a grand finale. I would recommend it for completeness and zeitgeist, but do not expect a story as engaging as the first book.

| | 3. | | D'Aulaires' Book of Norse Myths from New York Review of Books Price: $14.89
Customer Review:
I thought this might be like The Prose Edda, but it wasn't. It's sort of a watered down version of the Prose Edda for kids. With research I should have known that, but I was lazy and didn't research the book. Anyway, if you have a kid that wants some Norse Mythology this is the book for them,... more info

| | 9. | | Runemarks from Listening Library (Audio) Price: $1.99
Customer Review:
First of all, I like "Runemarks." I came across a copy in the juvenile fiction section of our public library, and I decided to read it first before giving it to my eleven year old son. In addition to the D'Aulaire books on Greek and Norse mythology, we have enjoyed the Narnian Chronicles, the Harry... more info

Customer Review:
I have been reading Anne McCaffrey's novels for years. I have a copy of every one of them and I would recommend her works to anyone of all ages. She has created a fantasy world that you can fall into and lose yourself in. Her characters are the examples of the best and the worst of humanity. The... more info
