| | 1. | [no image] | What Makes a Shadow? from HarperCollins Children's Books
Customer Review:
The absolutely adorable illustrations are sure to capture any child's attention. I loved the book, especially the cute story line with the children and animals used to explain, in very simple terms, what a shadow is and how it is formed. Perfect for 5-6 year olds. I also think it was great that the... more info

Customer Review:
Jeanne Massey was my first grade teacher, and she often told us this story (whether it was close to Halloween or not!) I have long since lost my copy that she gave me, but the story and those times are treasured memories.

| | 7. | [no image] | Izzard, from Atheneum
Customer Review:
I remember reading this book as a child, and being fascinated by the beauty of the illustrations. The story itself is wonderful, but it seems that as a kid growing up in the United States, I seldom read or heard about kids living in tropical/Caribbean settings. This book filled that void.
