| | 1. | | The Electric Kool-Aid Acid Test from Picador Price: $10.88
Customer Review:
Tom Wolfe takes us through part of the acid-movement of the 60's with Ken Kesey (author of "One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest") and company as they embark on their journey across America to popularize acid. Wolfe writes in a way that sort of makes you feel that you are on acid too. His writing style... more info

| | 2. | | The Bonfire of the Vanities: A Novel from Picador Price: $10.88
Customer Review:
Tom Wolfe captures the essence of big-city racial and class conflict, plus greed, ambition, and self-serving hypocrites. His story concerns high-living banker Sherman McCoy, whose accidental exit from the New York freeway into the crime-plagued South Bronx leads to his mistress running over a young... more info

The Right Stuff is essential reading for any student of post-war western popular history whether or not you are interested in aviation and the space-race. | | 4. | | I Am Charlotte Simmons: A Novel from Picador Price: $10.20
Customer Review:
This is my first book review on Amazon but I felt so utterly disappointed with the novel that I felt a duty to try to dissuade others from wasting their time. I had higher hopes for my first Tom Wolfe foray, given the better reviews of his earlier books, but I found the book absolutely too long... more info

| | 5. | | A Man in Full from Dial Press Trade Paperback Price: $11.56
Customer Review:
It took Tom Wolfe more than decade to finally publish his second novel. Using the same journalistic skills which made him famous, A MAN IN FULL sees Wolfe turning his keen eye and withering criticism south, to Atlanta, where we first meet Charlie Croker. One time college football star, now a middle... more info

| | 8. | | The Painted Word from Bantam Price: $11.20
Customer Review:
This is an unpersuasive essay about the failure of modern art and about how we are all caught up in the falsity and ugliness of modern art. In my opinion, I think Wolfe is writing without much knowledge of modern art. He sounds like an uneducated critic in this book.
