| | 3. | | Le Petit Prince (French Language Edition) from Mariner Books Price: $8.42
Customer Review:
This is a great book. It is very helpful for the French student--not too difficult as to be beyond the intermediate level, but also with enough themes to keep a more advanced student interested. I loved the story. The only thing is that the version I had for school had a nice introduction and info... more info

| | 4. | [no image] | The City of God from Modern Library
Customer Review:
It took me about five months of off-and-on reading to slog through City of God--it was time well-spent. Here is one of the rare 1000-page books that not only deserved its length, but could have been longer. What astounded me about reading St. Augustine was how relevant he is, even after 1600... more info

| | 5. | | Dark Night of the Soul from Kessinger Publishing Price: $21.24
Customer Review:
This classic work on spiritual stages describes the storms of sense and the spirit we go through as we pass from one stage in relationship with God to another. While it can be a challenge to tease some of the meaning out of the Middle Ages he writes from, John of the Cross is the original master of... more info

| | 6. | | Confessions (Penguin Classics) from Penguin Classics Price: $8.00
Customer Review:
The place of St. Augustine's Confessions in the history of spiritual writing cannot be underestimated, so I will not belabor the point here. Suffice it to say, this book is, indeed, one of the great literary/spiritual classics ever written.
It has been, for me, however, even more valuable as... more info

| | 7. | | Wind, Sand and Stars from Mariner Books Price: $10.01
Customer Review:
I recently read Exupery's Wind, Sand and Stars for a survey course in world literature. Initially, I was concerned that my lack of interest and background in aviation might limit my enjoyment of the book. However, that was not at all the case. Saint-Exupery masterfully brings to life the excitement... more info

| | 9. | [no image] | Utopia from E P Dutton
Customer Review:
I bought this book because it is a revered "classic". While I am sure More's intent might have been good, and his ideas even acceptable during his time, the main problem with his theory is the lack of freedom allotted to the individuals in his utopia. This sort of thing just does not fly these days.

| | 10. | | On The Incarnation from CreateSpace Price: $16.95
Customer Review:
I was parusing the local "Christian" book store, I put that in quotes because when you have TD Jakes on the shelf one has to wonder where this store draws the line. I am guessing it is drawn on profit margin. Anyways, I found a small book on their "classics" bookshelf by Athanasius. I wanted to pick... more info
