Customer Review: This book is a great reference for anyone interested in sailing. If you're looking for a book that covers both power boating as well as sailing, Chapman's might be a better choice. However, on the topic of sailing, I prefer Annapolis over Chapman's.
Customer Review: Although I am not a sailor (and was occasionally left beind by Rousmaniere's use of sailing terminology), I thoroughly enjoyed this account of the deadly 1979 Fastnet race. Customer Review: John Rousmanire is the Mick Jagger of writing about sailing but with more grace. My wife and I found this log to be perfect for our gentle overnight excursions and coastal cruising, even if we didn't keep rigorous track of every measurement Rousmanire provides for. Spending a little time to... more info
Customer Review: Anybody that has sailed a boat inland or off shore knows the name of Nigel Calder. His expertise is a milestone amoung sailors. This book is simply outstanding! Definately worth your money!
Customer Review: This is a book full of informative, detailed and engaging stories about disasters and storms at sea. Rousmaniere wrote this book some years after he experienced and wrote about, the tragic 1979 Fastnet yacht race disaster (Fastnet, Force 10). He dissects each from the perspective of a yacht racer,... more info
