Customer Review: A good fourth of this book is spent telling you what a sniffer is... the rest of the book is pretty much just as useful, I think I found maybe a dozen snippets of useful information, wireshark is an excellent tool, especially for its ease in wireless settings, but this book is next to worthless, you... more info
Customer Review: I read a lot of technical books and also a lot of spy books. This mashed both of my favorite types of books. The authors who are hackers themselves did a great job of creating a story. I would recommend, and have recommended this book to a lot of people.
Customer Review: I have run Snort at previous jobs and currently run it at home. I found the book to be packed with tons of valuable information and a great reference for tweaks you may want to make to your install down the road as your needs change. Customer Review: Great starter book into Pen Testing. Big book with lots of information. Great book to read to prepare to start your CEH or CISSP studies.

Customer Review: Although this is a good book with valuable information, I think it is a bit vague and short. A good idea is to get 3 different books on their respective topics. Nessus and snort have nothing to do with eachother and snort is more powerful than Ethereal. Its work buying if you have the money and has... more info
Customer Review: As many others have said, this book had alot of errors. Mostly in language and what not. It's seriously outdated now, and a new edition is needed (and appears to be on it's way).
