The Golden Book on Birds is well written, well illustrated, and is just one marvelous little book.
When I was a young boy, starting around First Grade, my mom (who was a librarian at the time) got me all of the different Golden Guides on nature, including the one on Birds. I used to read this... more info

Just about every way to die imaginable is in this book, just as you get to know a character, they are executed in some gruesome fashion...but i did like it. Good ending, something good to read but J A Konraths books are better.
