We love it when manufacturers put together everything you need to start using a tool right out of the box, and this combo is great. Extremely compact, lightweight and powerful, the grinder in this package easily met every challenge we gave it, whether grinding, sanding or cutting. It's faster than we expected, too, given its size. In hand, it feels good, nicely balanced and comfortable. The paddle switch under the body has a lock-off button that must be depressed to turn on the tool, and a lock-on button at the back will keep the grinder running. The side handle offers a nice grip and additional control mounted to either side or the top of the gear case. Changing attachments is fairly quick and easy: Depress the spindle lock and turn the cutter till it locks. DeWalt, if you're listening, we wouldn't mind seeing a rubber cap on the spindle lock button for the ultimate in user comfort. Drawing 7.5 amps and spinning at 10,000 rpm, it's an incredibly powerful little machine that maneuvers sweetly into the tightest workspace. It comes with a nice assortment of abrasives to get started, and there are more available for purchase, including a wire wheel and wire cup brush. Hard to Control I have never used one of these before I purchased this one. We use pneumatic versions in our shop at work (I'm the shop manager there), to clean up metal surfaces before we reassemble pumps. I bought this grinder with the idea that I would use it for sanding, and specifically to cut a metal frame out of a window in my old house. It did work, but was very hard to control.
