Editorial Review:

Your little princess can recreate the double wedding scene from the Barbie video "The Princess and the Pauper" with this Royal Kingdom Carriage. This romantically-styled double carriage seats four Barbie dolls. Detach the two beautiful horses, so you can play with them and groom them separately. They come with saddles, bridles, reins and decorative saddle bows. You can even wear their bows in your hair, too. The elegant carriage has turning wheels, so it really rolls along.Barbie dolls sold separately. Measures 23"L x 8"W x 12.75"H.

True love triumphs in Barbie's video and DVD movie, Barbie as the Princess and the Pauper. Girls who simply can't get enough of this variation on the classic tale will certainly want to get their hands on this romantic horse and carriage. With room for four newlyweds (dolls not included), the plastic coach is drawn by two golden steeds with long, groomable manes and tails. Girls can play out the Barbie story of love and identification-trading, rolling the elaborately decorated carriage through the kingdom. Unfortunately, the less-than-sturdy play set might not stand up to the happily-ever-after standard of fairy tales, but it will provide plenty of entertainment while this particular Barbie era lasts. --Emilie Coulter

  • Horses wont stay attatched to carriage
Sorry Barbie fans. This is a disappiontment. The horses just do not stay attached to the carriage at all. The horses are smaller than the standard Barbie horses so they can't share saddles and tack with the other horses in our Barbie collection. Decorative pieces of the carriage fall of regularly. It looks so pretty in the box, but it does no good if the girls can't play with it. As my daughter told me, "Sell this in the Yard Sale. I never play with it." I say get the blue Barbie convertable instead.

  • Waste of money
This carriage was a present to my daughter, Christmas 2004. She liked it until she attempted to play with it. The horses do not stay on the toy...the plastic strap to hold them in place is the problem. It's too flimsy. It now sits in her toy box, unused.
Mattel had a good idea. Their follow thru leaves much to be desired, however.

  • A waste of money!
My daughter wanted everything princess & the pauper this year from Santa. I think the castle and everything else was great but the carriage is the worst toy EVER! We have spent more time reattaching the horses to the carriage and now she doesn't even play with the carriage b/c everytime she does it just falls apart. Do not waste your money on this toy!

  • Poor quality, prompt return to the store!
This toy is very poorly constructed. My daughter received this from Santa Clause yesterday morning. I told her he gave us permission to return it for a better toy, so this morning (the day after Christmas) we packed it up and took it back. If I had my way I would return the $100 castle as well but she wanted it so badly. There is no way to play with this toy without the horses coming apart from the carriage and falling over. Are the toy companies even testing things before they release them to the market... more info
