Kett KC193 Fiber Cement Siding Shear I once borrowed one from a friend and knew I had to have my own. The ease of just one job pays for the tool. It's like cutting through a sheet of paper. I highly recommend trying one, you will not be sorry.
Cement Board Kutter Used the shear to cut 1/4" cement board for flooring underlay, it cut like going through butter. I was even able to do some simple cut-out around vent holes. If you are cutting cement board, buy or rent this tool, it makes cutting cement board a breeze with no airborne dust. I have used an abrasive blade and cutter in the past, this is the only way to go cutting cement board. The pins used to hold the blade can be abused; they work great as long as you let the shear do the work.
Kett and Porter Cable Shears (same difference) I own a set of the Kett and the Porter Cable siding shears.They appear to be exactly the same.In fact I've replaced the blades in the Porter Cable with the Kett replacement set. You get the center and both side blades for less than you pay for just the PC center blade. They both have the same problem. The bolts that hold the blades in are constantly breaking,and can be a pain to replace.
