Great Tool with one major flaw After using my neighbors 11255VSR Bulldog Extreme (recently listed at $179 on Amazon)- I realized what I was missing out on. I did some research and decided on the heavier 11236VS. It is a great tool for the homeowner/DIY handyman. Currently Amazon has the best price I could find, the local big box harware store is selling it at a ridiculous $317.00. This tool is great but it does have what I consider one major flaw! Great Buy After having used the $1700.00 Hilti, I was very skeptical about the capabilities of the much cheaper Bosh. To say I was pleasantly surprised would be an understatement. The first job I used it on, my employee and I both couldn't keep the smiles off our faces. This tool is a great buy for the money. Buy this tool.
A solid performer in granite My predominant use of this rotary hammer is for splitting granite boulders on our property. This requires drilling a series of 3/4" x 4" deep holes in the granite at approx. 4" o/c along the intended split line, followed by the use of steel feathers and wedges. Granite is much harder than concrete, and I find that this tool does a very good job, requiring about 3 minutes drilling time per hole. Excellent Product I purchased the Bosch rotohammer on the recommendation of a licensed contractor who had offered to let me borrow his. Knowing the difficult job ahead, I declined, however decided to purchase the same model he carries in his truck. On-line search yielded Amazon's offer and I purchased from them at a substancial savings. I have used the tool as perscribed to remove 30 year old ceramic tile from my concrete floor and it performed beautifully.
