Editorial Review:

Maggie O'Neill reluctantly volunteers to care for her bedridden, oh-so-perfect sister, Mel, but strange spirits threaten to divert her attention. Then a friend of Mel's loses her husband to a dreadful fall, and the police call it an accidental death. Maggie's not so sure, and sets her second sights on finding a first-degree murderer.

  • Some things are finally changing...
I've enjoyed all of Madelyn Alt's books so far, but I have to admit that I've gotten a teensy bit annoyed with the way that her main character Maggie behaves around her family and men. This book somewhat solves the first part, but stays somewhat ambivalent on the second.
The story in this book is actually quite short and the murder mystery is more of a background story (even though it's supposed to be a main plot arc). The book first concerns itself with Maggie's older sister Mel, who is currently... more info

  • Setting up
This is a "setting up" book in the series. Weird things keep happening and people are being murdered in a place where not much usually happens, leading the local witches to think something considerably malevolent is in the wind. [slight SPOILER ALERT: The main character (MC) and her friends are outed to the community as witches after assisting the MC's blabbermouth sister with a nasty haunting. The MC is currently trying to hold on to a relationship with a fellow who isn't really comfortable with who and... more info

  • Madelyn Alt Does It Again!
Madelyn Alt hits another bullseye with the latest installment of the Bewitching Mysteries. Maggie O'Neill, the main character, continues her crime-fighting ways - and her ghost hunting ones, too. While helping to solve the murder of a local businessman, Maggie also gets to spend time with her sister and nieces. We get to learn more about them - and so does Maggie. Truns out the little ones have abilities, too...

  • Maggie really seems to have come into her own in this book and I like that she is taking control over her life.
In No Rest for the Wiccan, the fourth installation of the Bewitching Mystery series, we peek once again into the life of book store employee and witch, Maggie O'Neill. Things in quiet Stony Mill, Indiana are heating up and, of course, draw Maggie in.
After a strange act of vandalism at the local feed mill, the situation turns ugly when mill owner Joel Turner is found dead. When his widow Libby requests Maggie's help in clearing any spirits from the mill, Maggie can't help but be drawn into the... more info
